The elements of creation: fish, bits, mammals, mankind spirituality, the heavenly bodies, water, light, space
the mammals:
the lion lays down with the lamb. Isaiah 11:6: This verse, often associated with the "lion and the lamb" imagery, actually describes a time of peace and harmony where the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard with the young goat.
The Ram that is sacrificed by Abraham
God testing Abraham's faith by commanding him to offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering. Abraham, despite his love for Isaac and the promise of descendants through him, prepares to obey. At the last moment, an angel intervenes, and Abraham sacrifices a ram instead, demonstrating his unwavering faith and fear of God.
the snake from the garden
All the the animals stare directly at the viewer in a confrontational way. The snake is poised to strike. Snakes and reptiles, like fish and birds are patterened and beautiful in their design. Many snake species are threatened or endangered due to habitat loss and climate change
The Dove with the olive branch
A dove with an olive branch is a powerful symbol of peace, representing hope, new beginnings and reconciliation. In The biblical story of Noah's Ark, where a dove returns with an olive leaf, it signified the end of the Great Flood, a likely extinction event in the geological time history of earth.
“Let the Earth sprout vegetation, seed-bearing plants ofl of every kind..”
there are seed diagrams across the top of rhe design, on one side,l, and on the other side, planets. They represent the repeating patterns at different scale that define our world.
lights in the expanse of the sky
“let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate day from night they shall serve signs for the set time for the days and the years.”
God sets in motion the gears of the universe which we symbolize with the clockworks at the enter of the design. As well, the phases of the moon, the cycle of the stars, even the great mysterious orbits of the comets.
Mankin'd’s preaence in the world is profound. The sheer creative force of humankind marks the world, changes it, shapes it, turns it into art. These negative hand-prints symbolize the creative, inventive, homo sapien, that thinks enough about the future to leave a permanent hand-print , while not forgetting the hand that lays heavy on the world, our marked proclivity for defacement, not to mention our genius for destruction.
Also a stack of stones, a cairn to guide our way or is that Jacob’s Pillar, marking the house of god?
