Some believe the two forms of Shin differentiate between how the Torah was given at Mount Sinai and how it's traditionally written. The letters on the Tablets of Stone were carved from the stone, forming letters from the empty space (negative space). This is represented by the four-pronged Shin.

In essence, the four-branched Shin symbolizes the profound and multifaceted nature of the Torah and Jewish spirituality. It highlights the distinction between the revealed and concealed aspects of divine wisdom. 

The dichroic sparks relate to the design of the ark curtain.
